Linux System Engineer

Located in Maine with a company which has doubled in size this year and is still growing. Partial remote work is an option.

The primary responsibilities for this role is to be a lead Linux System Engineer, but you’ll also be asked to help out with other infrastructure needs, such as Windows servers, VMware and security. Any experience you have with system security is a big plus.

You will be a go-to person for all tech needs for several flavors of Linux – troubleshooting, building, configuring, upgrading, testing… app/file/database/web servers and cloud services. You’ll lead migration and upgrade projects, software releases to QA, production and disaster recovery environments. In short, you’ll be an integral part of a small but rapidly growing IT team and involved with a wide variety of projects over any given time segment.

Within your tool bag should be several of the following:

Linux System Engineering/Administration

Microsoft Office and Office365


TCP/IP, wireless technologies, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory

Rack management, servers, storage, security and backup technologies

Desktop administration: Microsoft Windows XP – Windows 10
