Hardware Support Specialist

Provide first-class hardware support to customers on the phone, virtually and in-person, working from company HQ in Southern Maine.

Additional duties:

  • Support, service, install and trouble-shoot industrial electronic and mechanical systems
  • Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of company products
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours technical support over the phone
  • Attend training courses and seminars as recommended
  • Maintain and update technical documentation used as support tools

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology ( or related) with 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer (or smiliar title).  Requires proven experience with Microsoft technologies: Windows operating systems, Active Directory, vSphere, Hyper-V, L2 and L3 comm layers, MS Exchange, Citrix and Terminal Services.

The responsibility of this role is to manage customer expectations through the leadership of engineering teams. With your highly organized, insightful and effective work/management style, the product deliveries to your customers will be timely, on-budget and met with high customer satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop estimates and proposals for new business opportunities, and proposals for follow-on work with existing customers.
  • Identify innovative opportunities to add value to customers’ programs and products, beyond defined project scope and constraints.
  • Develop and maintain program plans and communicate program status to customer(s) and internal teams.
  • Direct and coordinate program activities (schedule adherence, program budget, plan tracking, milestones, scope changes, design-to-cost objectives, plan updates, and weekly team meetings) while leading personnel responsible for specific functions throughout the life-cycle phases of program. Guide successful completion of projects though collaboration with Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, outside consultants and suppliers.
  • Responsible for control and communications of project/program level risks, issue management, and project quality.
  • Help identify and execute opportunities for continual process improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a customer-facing product development role.
  • BS or higher degree – preferably in Engineering.
  • Experience with all phases of new product development, from concept through commercialization, preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of teams with many disciplines.
  • PMP certification a plus.
